Text Box: UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Welcome, and thank you for visiting our website. As indicated on several of the incomplete pages, this site is a work in progress: It’s been in the works for a while and, though it’s not yet ready, I published this version on 12/8/08 for several reasons: We need to have some kind of website and this is better than nothing. Once the structure is in place, it’s easier to make amendments and add content. This will serve as a test for how the site will perform on different systems. I hope to get feedback from those who review the site in its current format. The last mentioned above—feedback—is the most important. If you’re kind enough to review this attempt, please concentrate on the following three aspects: Content: Does the site provide the material you expect in an easy format. Performance: Do pages download quickly? Do all of the links work properly? Does stuff line up like it should? Is it easy to print from the pages? Remember that appearance will vary from system-to-system and from browser-to-browser, so I’ve no way of knowing how it looks on yours unless you tell me. Design: Is the layout easy to follow? Do the colors make sense? Sometimes it can be difficult to get what you need from the Rotary International site, so I included a page of links to some of the more useful areas of the RI website and did the same for the district site. They’re actually the only two pages that are somewhat complete. I hope that they will be a useful portal into the District and into RI. My intention is to archive our—large collection of—photos in flickr, with links from the members and calendar pages, for easy access and viewing. Similarly, it will probably make sense to develop some kind of web log (blog) to enhance the calendar and make it easy to update. Again, all ideas and input will be welcome. Thank you again for viewing these pages. Please send comments by email, but a phone call will also be welcome. I hope to complete the rest of the site in the next couple of weeks.
